USA:

  1. The Environmental Protection Agency is making rules that will make the running of coal-powered factories extremely expensive and hard to keep running. They argue that these plants are putting large amounts of pollution into the air causing major health problems across all of the US. They are taking all these companies that operate these factories to court and win most cases.

  2. The USA is trying to implement a carbon tax for all things carbon. They can tax carbon at any time during the production process. This is argued to be the best way to combat fossil fuels with the least effect on the general population.

China:

  1. China has a very ambitious goal of phasing out all internal combustion cars (Petrol and Diesel cars) by 2050. This goal is to help reduce China’s oil consumption and improve its renewable energy usage. This would have a huge impact on the world as they are the main producers of cars. Other countries would have to move to new cars or get the resources and manpower to make their own cars.

  2. China is investing in lots of renewable energy systems such as wind, solar and hydro-powered farms this is to increase its energy security. By investing in these energies they are helping them take steps toward improving their ways and making renewable energy more and more normal and cheaper.
